RACES TO WATCH

31. 11:30  Double Sculls Challenge Cup 678 Buchan & Free, AUS v 691 Mohr & Wolter, GER

After commencing their Henley campaigns in The Diamond Challenge Sculls yesterday, Buchan and Free come together to face the German lightweights in today’s tailwind conditions.

32. 11:35 Diamond Challenge Sculls 718 J. Bakker, NED v 747 S.M. Posnik, POL

After performing well in his first round yesterday, Dutch sculler Bakker faces seeded Tokyo Olympian Posnik. A back injury and subsequent Federation policy mean that this is Posnik’s first appearance this year, and so it will be interesting to see his form today.

36. 12:00 Diamond Jubilee Challenge Cup 570 Shrewsbury School v 541 Hartpury College

It will be great to watch the high quality display of sculling that these crews, comprised of talented athletes selected to race for Great Britain internationally or for the GB Performance Development Academy, will put on.

38. 12:10 Britannia Challenge Cup 616 Sydney R.C. , AUS v 608 Molesey B.C.

These two clubs faced each other in The Wyfold Challenge Cup yesterday, with Molesey coming out on top. Today, Sydney will be looking to overturn this result and make their overseas journey worthwhile.

46. 2:30 Island Challenge Cup 191 A.S.R. Nereus, NED v 207 Newcastle University

Expect this to be an exciting match-up between Newcastle, who dominated their race yesterday, and seeded crew Nereus, whose first appearance is today.

52. 3:05 Prince Philip Challenge Trophy 284 Hinksey Sculling School v 286 Kingston Grammar School

Kingston Grammar School, who overturned their loss to St. Edward’s School at Henley Women’s Regatta in a great performance yesterday, will now face national champions Hinksey, who will also be hoping to overturn their results from HWR after a loss to Headington School in the finals.

68. 5:40 Fawley Challenge Cup 504 R.C. Allemannia, Hamburg, GER v 506 Shiplake College

After impressively qualifying a crew for each of the junior events, all of Shiplake’s boats have made it through the first round. There’s no doubt that Shiplake will be looking to progress further into the regatta, and the obstacle in their way is seeded crew R.C. Allemania.

75. 6:20 Diamond Challenge Sculls 730 H.G. Harding, AUS v 725 J.D. Free, AUS

In what will be his second appearance of the day after racing in The Double Sculls Challenge Cup earlier in the morning, Jackson Free will race fellow Australian Hamish Harding.

82. 7:05 Queen Mother Challenge Cup 411 Braunschweig & Magdeburg, GER v 408 Hollandia Roeiclub, NED

The Queen Mother Challenge Cup commences today, with a strong international entry that will be exciting.

83. 7:10 Prince Philip Challenge Trophy 283 Henley R.C. v 294 Shiplake College

This local derby will certainly be a good one to watch.
