Safety and Security

Measures in place to keep you safe

The security and safety of all Competitors, Members and Guests is our greatest priority.

We work hard throughout the year and during the Regatta to ensure everyone has a safe, secure and enjoyable visit. We work closely with Thames Valley Police, Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, and South Central Ambulance, as well as the local authorities and the Environment Agency.

On site, we have a large security team responsible for keeping the event safe – including undertaking vehicle and bag searches, plus accreditation and ticket checks. We employ various specialist dog units as well as CCTV, the latter monitored by our Control Room. A number of other measures (including some of the latest security technology) is in use across all of our event footprint, even if it is not visible.

Our wider staff and volunteer team undergo security training, but we all have our part to play and if you see something unusual or that does not feel right, then trust your instincts and report it immediately to one of the security team, officials or police officers on site.
