Morning Briefing with Jess Eddie - Tuesday 30 June, 2026

Today's races to watch at Henley Royal Regatta from Olympic silver medalist and HRR Steward, Jess Eddie.

Race 38. 2:10, The Diamond Jubilee Challenge Cup. 641 Shiplake College v 617 Headington School ‘A’

Shiplake College last won the Junior Women’s Quadruple Sculls in 2021, whilst Headington School made it to the final in 2019. Form has been on Shiplake’s side this year, but it’ll be interesting to see these two huge clubs, and a showdown between them, right off the bat on the first day of the Regatta.

Race 50. 3:20, The Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup. 276 Los Gatos Rowing Club, USA v 296 Windsor Boys’ School

Can Windsor Boys’ School, who are famous for their sculling, actually translate that into an eight? Los Gatos are over here from the USA in force, with a crew in The Fawley Challenge Cup as well - an event Windsor Boys’ have won five out of the last eight times. This race will be two big names going head to head - one from the UK, one from the USA.

Race 74. 6:45, The Thames Challenge Cup. 44 London Rowing Club v 65 Tyne Amateur Rowing Club

North versus South in the Thames Challenge Cup for open eights. Let’s see how fast last year’s winners from London Rowing Club are as they come up against the might of the Tyne from Newcastle.
