Accreditation

Press accreditation can be collected from the Press Accreditation Hut, located at the entrance to the Boat Tent Area, opposite the Official Regatta Shop (location 22 on the Site Map linked below).

Accreditation passes will be available to collect during the Press Hut / Press Tent opening times detailed below.

To avoid delays, please complete your accreditation form well in advance of your arrival. If you complete your accreditation form on the same day that you intend to collect your pass, you may be required to wait while your pass is processed and printed.

Please note that Tuesday morning is typically our busiest accreditation collection slot. Media keen to catch the first race of the day are strongly advised to arrive well before the start of racing and allow sufficient time for collection. Those arriving immediately before the first race should expect queues and delays.

Daily Wristbands

A daily coloured wristband system will be in operation throughout Regatta week.

All accredited media must check in daily at the Press Accreditation Hut and collect a wristband for each day they have been approved to attend. This wristband must be worn alongside your accreditation pass at all times. Access to media areas will only be permitted when both a valid accreditation pass and the corresponding wristband for that day are displayed.

If you require access to the Boat Tent Area before the Press Accreditation Hut opens, please speak to the Press Team the day prior to collect your wristband in advance.

Please note that if you have not collected your wristband in advance, you will not be permitted to enter the Boat Tent Area until the Press Accreditation Hut opens and a wristband has been issued for that day.

Anyone accessing the Boat Tent Area before the Press Accreditation Hut opens must keep all bags and personal belongings with them at all times. For security reasons, unattended bags are not permitted anywhere on site and will be removed immediately.

Media Bibs

All photographers and videographers must wear a Media Bib when working in the Boat Tent Area or from the Photo Box. Bibs are not required within the Regatta Enclosure or Stewards' Enclosure (access permitting).

Media Bibs can be collected from the Press Accreditation Hut. A refundable £50 deposit will be taken by card at the time of collection.

For those attending for a single day, bibs must be returned before leaving site that evening. Those attending on multiple days may retain their bib throughout the week and return it at the end of their final day.

The £50 deposit will be refunded upon return of the bib. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the deposit and could affect future accreditation applications.

Parking

If you requested parking as part of your application, you will receive a digital one-time parking pass by email ahead of the Regatta.

On arrival, please show your digital pass to a parking attendant, who will direct you to the correct car park.

Your one-time pass will be exchanged for a parking label for that day. Please leave the large section of the pass displayed in your car and hand the small corner slip to the parking attendant.

If you are attending on multiple days, you will receive parking passes for the remainder of the week when you check in at the Press Accreditation Hut.

If you are unsure whether you requested parking or on which days, please contact the Press Team.

On Site Facilities

Complimentary hot drinks and chilled drinking water will be available in the Press Tent throughout the day. Paper cups will be provided, however we encourage all media to bring a refillable water bottle for use during their visit to reduce waste.

Please note that no food is provided for accredited media. We recommend bringing your own lunch and snacks, or purchasing food and refreshments from Café Regatta opposite the Press Tent, or from one of the other food outlets located in Little Lion Meadow or the Regatta Enclosure.

A communal fridge is available in the Press Tent for personal food and drink items. Please ensure all items are clearly labelled with your name. Any items stored in the fridge are left at the owner's risk, and we cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage.

We kindly ask all media to help keep the Press Tent clean and tidy by disposing of all rubbish, food packaging and used cups in the bins provided. Please leave shared spaces as you would wish to find them for fellow media.

A dedicated media Wi-Fi network will be available in the Press Tent throughout the Regatta. To help ensure a reliable service for all accredited media, please do not share the network password with anyone outside the media centre, as excessive usage may affect network performance.

Security

All media personnel are subject to daily bag checks when entering the Boat Tent Area or any of the Enclosures (access permitting).

Anyone accessing the Boat Tent Area before the Press Tent opens must keep all bags and personal belongings with them at all times. For security reasons, unattended bags are not permitted anywhere on site and will be removed immediately.

Please do not leave bags, equipment or personal belongings in the Press Tent overnight. Any items remaining at the end of the day will be removed and transferred to Left Luggage.

Accreditation passes and daily wristbands must be worn and remain clearly visible at all times while on site. Both items are required for access to media areas and may be checked by security personnel throughout the event. Failure to display valid accreditation and the appropriate wristband may result in access being withdrawn and removal from site.

Please remain vigilant throughout your visit and if you see something that doesn't look right please report it immediately to a member of staff or the security team.

Launch Boat Access

Accredited media may request access to follow a race from an Official Umpire's Launch. Launch seat applications should be made within the 20 minutes after the next day’s race timetable is released, which is made available shortly after the conclusion of each day’s racing. However, media are also welcome to submit requests throughout the day if they do not need to wait for the race timetable.

Requests for the following day's racing should be submitted via email to press@hrr.co.uk.

Please note that places on the launches are extremely limited and demand often exceeds availability. Submission of a request does not guarantee a place, and successful applicants may be allocated an alternative race to the one originally requested.

Successful applicants will be notified by the Press Team, with their tickets available for collection from the Press Accreditation Hut each morning. Failure to arrive at the designated collection point by the specified time will result in your place being forfeited. Alternative tickets will not be issued and may affect the outcome of future launch access requests.

Our Team

The Press Team is here to support you throughout the Regatta. If you have any questions, require assistance, or would like help arranging interviews or access opportunities, please speak to a member of the team and we will do our best to assist.

Throughout the week, we will keep you informed via email with important updates, interview opportunities, media alerts, relevant imagery and story ideas that may be of interest.

Henley Royal Regatta operates a zero-tolerance policy towards abusive, threatening or discriminatory behaviour. Any individual found to be behaving inappropriately may have their accreditation withdrawn and be asked to leave the site.
