travelling to henley

The Stewards' Enclosure is located on the Berkshire bank, within walking distance of the town and Henley Railway Station.

Henley-on-Thames is located 13 miles from Junction 8/9 on the M4, and 16 miles from Junction 4 on the M40. Please note that the M4 will be closed in both directions over the weekend of 13 August - 16 August 2021 between Junctions 5 (Langley) and 6 (Slough). The closure will start after 8pm Friday 13 August. For the latest information please refer to Highways England.

Please use postcode RG9 2LP to find your way to the Official Car Parks on the Berkshire side, and as you approach Henley, follow the directions provided for either RECTANGULAR or CIRCULAR tickets.

Please use postcode RG9 2HY to find your way to the Official Hospitality at Fawley Meadows, and as you approach Henley, follow the directions provided for TRIANGULAR labels.

The most convenient taxi drop-off during Regatta is in the town, on the A4130, a short walk from the Regatta site.

Visiting by Car

Please note, there is a one-way system in place in Henley town centre


Please follow the traffic signs for your label and view our map to help plan your route into Henley. These may differ from routes shown on satellite navigation systems.

RECTANGULAR LABELS  – Lion Meadow and Disabled Parking

If you arrive on the A4130 from London or Wargrave, you may be prevented from turning right into Leander Way due to the volume of traffic.This may result in you being directed over Henley Bridge and around the one-way system in Henley.

CIRCULAR LABELS  - Butler’s and Green’s Fields

You are forbidden to try to gain admission to the Car Parks via Leander Way.You must go around the one-way system via Remenham Church Lane.


Your route is not affected before 16:00

For clarification, please view the one-way system map to help plan your route to the Regatta.


RECTANGULAR and CIRCULAR label holders will be obliged to follow the one-way system through Remenham. Exit via Leander Way is prohibited.

You are also forbidden to turn right at the Remenham Lane junction with the A4130. If you wish to return to Henley Bridge, the recommended route is via Cockpole Green and the Wargrave Road (A321).

Please follow the temporary signs.

If you need to reach more distant areas in Oxfordshire you are better advised to follow the A4130 to the Marlow Bypass(A404) and use alternative routes to your destination.


After 16:00 you are strongly advised to avoid Henley Bridge and your best approach from the M4 or M40 is via Marlow and the A4155.
